Entrepreneurship - 1st and 2nd Hours

Today you will begin a new assignment, "The Vacation of a Lifetime." You will be planning a vacation on a budget of $1,500. The steps to this assignment are:

1. Choose anywhere in the United States for your vacation.
2. Determine the length of the vacation (keeping within your budget of $1,500).
3. To help you plan this vacation, complete pages 1-4 of the handout.
4. Review page 5 of the handout, which is a rubric/scoring guide.
5. Review pages 6-7 of the handout and use these pages to design a PowerPoint presentation to present to the class. If the websites listed on the handout do not work or are blocked, feel free to find a different website to help you gather your required information.

Be sure to remember the qualities of a good PowerPoint presentation:

• Limit text.
• Choose text for its readability and size.
• Maintain a consistent, non-distracting background.
• Limit sounds.
• Resist the temptation to reduce type sizes to make things fit.
• Keep test parallel.
• Use bullets with caution.
• Be consistent.
• Run spell check.
• Rehearse timing and transitions.
• Be cautious in the use of sounds - they, too, should be carefully rehearsed.
• Use both text and graphics on each slide.
• Include a background or border on each slide
